Peter Parkers last night in New York
As The sun set on The futuristic Manhattan Skyline, The New York City Opera Choir continued to play hymns and classical tunes from the balcony of the New York State Capitol in honor of Peter Parker. The city had never seen such a outpouring of love and respect for a single individual.
The Avengers stood vigil outside the Capitol, watching over Peter’s casket as the people of New York came to pay their respects. The line of mourners stretched as Far as Central Park and back to the United Nations headquarters.
The city had never been so united, not even during the dark days of the battles with Thanos. The air was filled with the scent of candles and flowers, and the murmur of prayers and whispered goodbyes.
A man dressed in a Spider-Man costume climbed up the side of the Capitol building, pausing at the top to salute the sky. It was a sight that brought chills to the spine of everyone present, a silent tribute to the hero who had once looked over the city.
The night grew quiet, and the stars began to twinkle in the nightsky as Peter Parker’s casket remained in the capitol rotonda, the joint honor guard and the corps Of cadets from westpoint standing vigil over him.
The city that never sleeps was now united in grief, each person carrying a piece of Spider-Man’s legacy with holographic and electronic billboards showcasing his greatest moments and messages of hope.
Times square went dark for the first time in its history, a tribute to the man who had once saved it from the Lizards and the Sinister six.
As dawn broke, the final funeral services for him in his home state in New York before transfer on a funeral train to Washington D.C was set to begin.
The next day would be a day of sorrow and a celebration of life well lived in the service of others.
