God told Elijah to meet King Ahab and challenge the prophets of Baal to a contest on Mount Carmel to show who the true God was.Elijah told the people of Israel to choose sides: follow God or follow Baal. He then set up an altar with a bull for a sacrifice and asked the prophets of Baal to do the same. The challenge was to see whose god would send fire from heaven to burn the sacrifice.The prophets of Baal prayed and danced all day, but nothing happened. When it was Elijah’s turn, he prayed to God, and fire immediately came down from heaven, burning up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, and even the water around the altar!Falling Action:The people of Israel saw this miracle and shouted, "The Lord, He is God!" They turned back to worshiping the true God.Then, Elijah prayed for rain, and soon, dark clouds appeared, and heavy rain fell, ending the drought.Conclusion:Elijah showed the people that God is real and powerful. By trusting and praying to God, amazing things can happen.The story ends with Elijah thanking God for His faithfulness and the people of Israel returning to worship the one true God.
