Prompt: Mental time dilation ā€“ A completely non-scientific article that should not be taken seriously. There are at least three types of time dilation. Special relativity basically states that the faster an object is moving through space, the slower it moves through time. General relativity has to do with gravity: as you approach something with great mass, a blackhole for example, time passes normally for you, but much faster to others. There is, however, a different type of time dilation. We, conscious humans have an interesting way to perceive the world. And it becomes really confusing when it comes to perceiving time itself. See, recently I have been locked down in my 10 cubic-metered bedroom, that has no window to the outside world. And after only one day, I have completely lost my notion of time. Depending on the (very much limited) activities Iā€™m doing, time seems to go by faster or slower, and I realize that it is virtually impossible to guess what time it is after one hour or two without peeking. Even though it goes by pretty fast, it still feels like an eternity.
